When a leading global QSR brand needed to transform their digital customer experience across mobile, web, and in-store touchpoints, they faced a critical leadership gap. The newly created Head of Digital Product/UX role required innovation beyond traditional QSR thinking, yet the search needed to remain confidential while moving quickly to support the Board's strategic priorities and timelines.
We partnered with the Chief Experience Officer to shape a comprehensive role persona (ideal candidate profile). We outlined not only specific technical sklillsets required but key strategic, leadership, change management, and external thought leadership capabilities. This was essential to anchor our search and develop the right Go-to-Market strategy.
We focused our search on industries adjacent to QSR including hospitality, retail, and financial services / fintech. We targeted firms that had previously executed an impactful digital transformation to drive customer engagement and loyalty.
Why? Given our direct expertise in leading global transformations, we strongly believe that looking outside enables:
We leveraged our network, including candidates from prior searches, for the search. Within 24 hours of beginning the search, we identified 75+ viable candidates and initiated outreach.
We targeted passive CX transformation leaders, valuing innovation and transformation capabilities with a focus on omni-channel experiences. It was important that any candidate we presented had a track record of moving the needle on CX and brand loyalty.
Given the Board level priority and upcoming board meeting, we quickly moved through candidate outreach and engagement in order to accelerate the process and get strong candidates into the hands of our client. Other search firms would either require up-front retainers which delay the search OR are high-volume firms that dilute their focus on key roles like this.
We rapidly assessed candidates across industries and within one week, short-listed 2 candidates for our client to consider. While most firms may "spray" candidates at clients to see what sticks, we ensure quality and fit. We presented one candidate from retail and one with hospitality and financial services experience, giving our client diverse profiles.
We navigated a streamlined, confidential interview process with the Executive Committee, inclusive of an on-site interview day.
We led the client and candidate through a complex offer negotiation that balanced the needs and constraints of both parties. The offer was accepted and search completed in 35 days.
We supported a successful transition of the selected candidate and continue to check-in on progress.
Our leader-to-leader and strategic approach delivered where conventional methods couldn't.
